You would think that Fridays are the best days of the week. Well, maybe for people studying other degrees (or majors) they are. For us poor medical students- and I'm using the adjective loosely considering that I couldn't be happier- not as much.
Oh, there are parties, of course. Thursdays and Fridays. Coupled, naturally, with studying and trying to get up to date with every single subject- an impossible feat. I don't actually go to the parties, but I do try to watch a movie or something to unwind on Friday nights. Today I went out for dinner with my two closest friends from university. I ate an entire pizza! Boy, was it good.
Today in class we did the cranium in Anatomy and we discussed a clinical case about muscular dystrophy in Biochemistry. For the first time, I took my laptop to class to take notes and I think I'm going to be doing that more often. Sure, my shoulders are killing me from the extra weight, but I took much faster notes and I avoided wasting time trying to understand those notes later and typing them up. Not to mention saving a few trees. A win-win situation, to be sure.
Our anatomy teacher forgot that he was supposed to be teaching class, apparently, because all he did was read the power point presentation out loud and correct the mistakes on it. Not very helpful at all. Thankfully, my dear friend Frank Netter will hopefully help me understand all of the structures later.
The other crazy thing I'm doing right now, as though medicine weren't enough, is trying to get my driving license. I have to take the written test next Wednesday. I am really hating preparing for that, there are so many possible questions that it seems impossible to pass. But this, too (and please disregard my awful pun), shall pass.
Hours of sleep last night: 8. Yes, I am impressed too.
